Erosion Control & Seed Establishment

This project entailed seed and straw matting for erosion control. We started by regrading the homeowners land to make less of a slope. This allows for more of a dispersed approach to runoff and less of a mainstream flow. We then soil conditioned the land and added fresh pulverized topsoil to ensure root development. Next came the grass seed. We used two different seed brands/types. Jonathan Green Dense Shade Blend and Executurf Premium Shade Mix. Lastly, we added a single sided straw matting to the whole area. This prevents seed washout as well as keeps animals from eating the seed. The straw matting is pinned to the ground to keep a tight and uniform look and ensures proper functionality of the product.
